I love cottages. I’ve yet to live anywhere where living in a cottage is an option. And by cottage I mean this:
I googled Cotswold Cottages and found this glorious picture. It was actually taken in DEARBORN, MICHIGAN–NOT the Cotswolds–this took a little bit of the magic out of it for me but whatever. It’s Spring and I’m hankering to live in a Spring laden paradise where Hobbits could be my neighbors and bunnies, well, hop, all over, and crown moldings are indigenous to the house–not builder upgrades.
So today for Inspired Style–Cottage Love (cue dwarves singing, harps, flutes, birds etc…)
House Beautiful’s contributing editor, Frances Schultz renovated her East Hampton home and documented it throughout several issues of House Beautiful. You can see it online at housebeautiful.com under “Bee Cottage” or paste this into your browser: http://www.housebeautiful.com/search/?q=bee+cottage.
If you squint you can almost see me walking out the front door… but why would I leave??
The rug is brilliantly perfect in this room.
The ceiling is glorious. It’s like a teal midnighty blue sky lit by sunshine.
The walls are painted in the same color as the kitchen ceiling.
I just need a bathroom with ceilings like this. I do.
(Anybody see Modern Family and the house flipping episode where Cam puts in the “wow” factor? The dancing fountains?)
This pretty much hurts my heart it is so pretty. I almost don’t think I could live here because all I would do is wander and sing. I’m really not a good singer so that would be hard on my family.
For the next Cottage Love Chapter (Inspired Style) I have my eye on a cottage from a movie with Nicole Kidman…can you guess?
How did you get pictures of all my summer homes??? 😉 yes – it is hard to leave any if them!!
